AI-assisted development has made me 100x faster in developing, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t come at a cost.

With such rapid development, you also come up against the fact that you don’t internalize decisions and architecture the same way you once did. Now I make a decision, and an agent executes. Remembering that decision when I’m making 50 other ones? It can be nearly impossible.

When you’re building a project on your own, this isn’t a huge problem. Building at a company where you constantly need to communicate how things are built and how you handle edge cases? This becomes a lot more important.

So I’m building a decision agent - an agent whose whole responsibility is to maintain an index of the numerous decisions and edge cases I confront every day and create the documentation to maintain it.
